Blitzing for Bill Romanowski

Published by SteroidSources.com at 10:43 pm under NFL and Steroids

Bill Romanowski, in a comment after Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan was summarily dismissed, stated that there is no on better than carry on that Denver championship tradition but himself. With that he has been actively campaigning for the head-coaching job of the Mile High city NFL franchise team.

He is currently working on running a nutrition company and being a broadcasting figure. He had made his intentions clear when asked by the Associated Press. He blitzed for the Denver job.

His career spanned all of sixteen years with stints for the 49ers, Eagles, Broncos and Raiders. He won his Super Bowl titles with San Francisco and Denver. But the head in the helmet is not stellar all throughout. He was suspended for spitting on an opposing player and hurling racial slurs. He has also been implicated in the BALCO saga and has admittedly use THG or the human growth hormone while playing.

He admits though that he may have a wild card chance with it and may eventually not even qualify for the playoffs but in his mind he knows he is ready for it. His resume, aside from the acting gigs and nutrition company operations, his only other football coaching experience is helping out his son’s football team. What he has running for him though is the player’s perspective for the game. If ever this happens, it would either be football’s biggest gamble or football’s greatest achievement.

Officially, the Broncos have not commented on Romanowski’s pronouncements. They have received though a thirty slide power point presentation depicting Romanowski’s credentials and his vision for the Broncos organization. Essentially it would be a top to bottom revamp including a change in the scouting paradigm employed by the team. A new era would then emerge, which according to Romanowski he has the acumen, regimen and ability to achieve. What the team has done though is go through interviewing many current assistant coaches. Romanowski has not even been considered in the short list.

For his part, he acknowledges his shortcomings but given a shot, he would be able to share his thoughts that he is the spitting image of the new Denver Bronco head coach. His confidence in his capabilities has never waned from his linebacker days on the gridiron.

One of the highlights of the presentation would be full time nutrition planning. This is advertising his business, Nutrition53. He believes as he practiced then, that the protein shake mixes he himself took while still playing enhance the player’s skills. He also would look into psychological coaching, to see how the players are doing instead of trying to fix an already broken machine.

And now, Bill Romanowski is being considered a broken record for wanting and asking for time to be considered as the Broncos new coach. After all, this is a decision to be made Pat Bowlen, owner of the Broncos. He dismissed the Super Bowl winning coach after failing to make the playoffs for the third straight year since the 1982 season.
