HGH Urine Testing Gets A Performance Boost

how to trace HGH in urine testing The human growth hormone, when in the body seems to become untraceable as it is easily assimilated into one’s system. A scientific study has formulated a process to capture a significant and reliable concentration test for HGH that was released in Nano Research.

Professors Emmanuel Petricoin and Lance Liotta from the George Mason University have developed a process to assist anti-doping authorities a process to determine the use of synthetic human growth hormone by an athlete. This drug has long been one of the most popular performance boosting compounds used by the athletes and their doctors. The published dissertation discusses the chemical process to perform the test to see the existence of the compound in the urine of an individual.

This takes the cause for the eradication of cheats in sports. Offices like the World Anti-Doping Agency and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency would still have to take the process through its paces before accepting that it is a reliable means to find out the illegal use of HGH by athletes.

Current tests being employed make use of blood samples. HGH, being a chemical compound that quickens the rate of recovery and muscle creation, has been widely used in Olympic level competition but the test has failed to discover an athlete’s use. The invasiveness of the blood test is what has been widely perceived as the danger in the test. Major sports associations such as the National Football League and Major League Baseball have been supportive of research to find a less invasive testing process.

For its part, the US Anti-Doping Agency welcomes the new process by the professors of the suburban Washington DC school because it is another step to make sports clean for those who play clean.

The research by both academics stemmed from their research on cancer. In the pursuit of their cure for a disease, their lab with the help of other scientists from the Instituto Superiore di Sanita in Italy have been able to break down further body chemistry to nano particles, which in turn helps identify the presence of the illegal hormone.

The article published identified two key elements that have hindered in the creation of a test to determine the presence of HGH through urine samples. First would be the sheer nature of the complexities of the tests and the prohibitive cost of the test themselves. In using nano particles, the scientists were able to determine significantly the presence of HGH in urine samples using standard laboratory equipment. Initial skepticism met the maverick scientists when they discovered their work but with the submission and review by peers of their paper, their process is now getting the validity it richly deserves.

The publication on its part also undertook its testing procedures to validate the findings made in the paper. It required additional testing results as part of their validation process. Hongjie Dai, co-editor-in-chief assures the public of the care that was undertaken for the validation process. As a journal specific to the study of engineering on an atomic and molecular level, it is but proper that nano particle use in the determination of the presence of HGH in urine is included in the journal’s supported studies.
