NFL Confirms No Positive Results for Cushing and Mathews

Published by SteroidSources.com at 11:55 pm under NFL and Steroids

NFL drafts Brian Cushing and Clay Mathews negative on steroids according to the league The NFL is on the hot seat for a week now when a news report broke on the allege positive steroid test of its two players in the NFL Combine. The report mentioned the names of two USC players, linebackers Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews. The website is now into trouble on how to prove their allegations. The league and team coaches made harsh comments on the issue.

The USC coach, Pete Carroll immediately called the league for clarification and criticized the way the website publish its report. The NFL is also on the rescue of its two prospects. They immediately made an announcement that clarifies the allege positive steroid test of the players.

In an email sent to the National Football Post, the NFL League office issued a statement to shed light on the issue. Their announcement does not only focus on the two players but also the status of all players of the 32 clubs.

They denied that they know the drug test results of the players which were conducted in the February 2009 Combine. “Neither the 32 clubs nor the league office know the results of drug or steroid tests taken at the 2009 Combine. The independent medical advisors who administer the tests have notified in writing those players and only those players who tested positive at the Combine.” The league said that it is unfair to drag the names of these players into this steroid scandal if they don’t have evidence to prove it. It was also said in the email that these were just rumors and it was now becoming a norm every draft season.

“Unfortunately, rumors about draft eligible players, including rumors about test results, begin to circulate every year at this time. Many of these rumors are circulated for self-serving reasons and they are terribly unfair to the players and their families.”

Other sportswriters do have similar opinion on this matter. They say that it may just be a tactic of some people in the league since the draft is already on its way. If you want to make some noise, what would be the best issue and team to target? Of all the teams in the college football, we can say that the USC defense was arguably the best. If we will go back to the history of college football, USC is considered as the best college football team of all time.

However there are some NFL fans that are not happy on how the NFL tackles the issue and on how they implement steroid testing program. In the nationalfootballpost.com blog a reader commented this: “I don’t get it… if the league and the teams don’t know about the tests, why administer them?” Another reaction by a reader, “All results have an “A” sample and a “B” sample. If there is a positive on the “A” then the “B” is tested to confirm the result. That has not been completed and no results are known. They will not be released until one week before the draft and then are supposed to be held confidential. This kind of crap goes on every year and I have to wonder who benefits.”

Another website also shared a photo of Brian Cushing. The above photo was titled as the before and after of Brian. It’s up to you to decide whether the report on steroid use was true or not.
