Roger Clemens May Write Book To Clear Himself on Steroid Allegation

Published by SteroidSources.com at 8:54 pm under Baseball and Steroids

The Houstonist interviewed Roger Clemens on the HGH and steroid allegations of Brian McNamee It’s been weeks before the Houstonist’s request for an interview finally got an answer from Roger Clemens. Fans are curious on what Clemens would say in this interview since he has been mum on the controversy that he is into right now. Although this was an email based interview, Clemens gave light to some questions by the readers which has remained unanswered for a long time. Of course, Clemens has the reason for not giving statements to the media since the case is still being heard in the court.

In the interview Clemens reiterated that he never took HGH and denied that he allowed Brian McNamee to inject his wife with human growth hormone. “The truth is the truth. I’ve said it many times. I don’t know what else to say about that,” he said. “First, I did not “let” Brian McNamee inject my wife. As I stated in the congressional deposition, I was not at home when the incident took place. All you have to do is read — just go to the congressional website and spend some time reading.”

He also said that he knows the reason why McNamee brought this steroid allegation against him but he did not elaborate on the details. He knows that it is difficult to bring back the trust of his fans. He will just wait for the proper venue to clear his name. “I don’t think there’s a way for me to completely restore everyone’s trust in me. All I can do is try to get a proper venue to argue my case. Once I’m able to do that, the fans will know the full story. There’s really no way for me to prove a negative,” he said.

Clemens is optimistic that he will get justice from the court of law. “I think that’s the only place that we will be able to fully and fairly tell our side of the story.” When asked on the possible action if he lose in the court battle, he said that he might write a book just to tell his own story. “If I don’t get that opportunity, I’m not sure how we’ll go forward. That is something to be handled if, or when, the time comes. I’ve already written one book earlier in my career with Peter Gammons, and I enjoyed that. At this point there have been many conversations about me sitting down to write another one, and I guess that is a real possibility,” he said.

A reader asked him on the present HGH and steroid testing policy of the league and whether he has some suggestions for how these policies should be changed in the future. Clemens answered that the current policy of the league is good. He also gave an affirmative answer to the steroid testing of MLB. He added that he had been tested many times during his career. “I’ve passed every test I’ve taken for MLB, and I was tested for the World Games and passed those also.”

Players who have great statistics in the league usually ended in the Hall of Fame. Clemens is still hoping to be part of Hall of Fame but would just wait for the process to let him in. “The HOF is the final resting spot for players who have made their mark in the MLB, and absolutely, I’d love to be a part of the Hall of Fame. There are bits and pieces of me there now.” Although he said that as a player he doesn’t have any control in the voting process. “It’s a fantastic place, a fantastic town.”

Clemens is confident that he will be able to clear his name on this steroid allegation by going through the legal system.
